Verizon announces the Galaxy Nexus

Posted on October 22, 2011. Filed under: Uncategorized |

For months now, the Galaxy Nexus has been rumored to release on Verizon. In fact for quite some time, it was rumored to release only on Verizon. But for some strange reason, Big Red has been oddly quiet on the matter.

That is until tonight when America’s largest carrier finally confirmed they will be selling Google’s first Ice Cream Sandwich device. I’m sure by now you know all the specs by heart — 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, NFC, 4G LTE — so this is really just Verizon getting the official stuff out of the way.

Unfortunately, no specific launch date was given. All the press release says is “later this year.” There’s also no mention of price. That’s one carrier down, and at least six more to go. Who do you want to see carry the Galaxy Nexus?
